Brad Hodges

Brad Hodges serves as an 8th-grade Social Studies teacher at Col. Charles P. Murray Middle School in Wilmington, part of the New Hanover County Schools district. Throughout his teaching career, he has maintained a deep-rooted belief in the power of primary sources and the vital importance of learning opportunities that extend beyond the four walls of the classroom. Brad’s philosophy centers on making history tangible and accessible, ensuring students connect personally with the narratives of the past. As a Learning Happens Here Teacher Ambassador, he is particularly excited to collaborate with the DNCR to help develop and enhance robust field trip offerings for students across North Carolina. Outside of the school day, Brad is an avid volunteer with Ocean Cure, where he dedicates his time to supporting adaptive surfing initiatives.
